It has been a difficult year for snow in the mountains this year with a much smaller than normal snow pac. The area around Buena Vista and Salida has still gotten some good snows and there are still some areas that are good for skiing. Some good locations are Cottonwood Creeks; North Cottonwood, South Cottonwood and Middle Cottonwood. All three have enough snow for decent skiing or snowshoeing. The road to Balwin Lake is also good for skiing and snow shoeing, but does have some bar spots on the way up. Driving up above Clear Creek Reservoir can also open up some good skiing areas. We received more fresh snow on the 16th so there will be some nice powder to ski in.
